Sagepoint Adult Day Program Celebrates 30 Years of Care

Sagepoint Senior Living Services Celebrates Adult Day Program

On July 15, 2015, Sagepoint Senior Living Services’ Adult Day Program celebrates 30 years serving the citizens of Charles County. Originally funded as a collaborative effort of the Charles County Nursing Home, Charles County Health Department, and Charles County Mental Health Center, the program began serving just one participant and has since expanded to a capacity of 63 persons per day. Since its inception, Sagepoint’s Adult Day Program has proudly served more than 680 participants!

Adult Day Services is a community program offered by Sagepoint Senior Living Services in La Plata. Since 1985, this program has offered supervision with daily activities from simple assistance to total care, physical and occupational therapies available on site, monitoring of medical diagnoses and medication administration, health checks such as blood pressure, blood sugar, and lab work, and nutrition consultation and weight monitoring.

Whether you’re working or just need a day to take care of things, you can count on a safe, structured environment where your loved one’s health and well-being can be monitored by licensed health care providers. It’s the kind of assistance that can help you keep your loved one living at home. What’s more, we make our day care as convenient as possible for families operating Monday through Saturday and providing transportation services!

Born June 18, 1915, Trudy has been known to say she was born at the right time in history.  She remembers when there were very few airplanes or cars around.  Ice was delivered daily by horse cart.  Train tracks were placed over the frozen Susquehanna River at Havre de Grace, MD during the winter. She marveled at all the changes that came her way and was humbled and grateful for the experiences she encountered throughout her life.

Borrell, a resident of the Sagepoint Senior Living Services in La Plata, celebrated her 100th birthday Friday — with family, friends and Sagepoint staff. Charles County commissioners’ President Peter F. Murphy (D) presented Borrell with a certificate in recognition of her 100th birthday.
